Receiving the Holy Spirit is for everyone Christian including professionals – whether a doctor, lawyer, pilot, carpenter etc. Some assume the Holy Spirit is only for Pastors and spiritual leaders – no. Every Christian must receive the Holy Spirit of course number 1 because it is impossible to live the Christian life without the Holy Spirit. Secondly because the Holy Spirit is the giver of life (John 6:63). Then thirdly because the Holy Spirit is the master of innovation. Our opening verse reveals the Holy Spirit is the one that reveals the deep things of God. This revelations include business ideas, new products etc. All innovation comes from the spirit. It may be from the spirit of the world or the Spirit of God. Unfortunately, many innovations today are coming from unbelievers which means it is the spirit of the world revealing to them. Why is this so? Because many Christian professionals have ignored the Holy Spirit and they rely only on their intellectual knowledge. This will only make you an employee working for an idea someone else innovated because ideas comes from the Spirit. So every Christian professional must be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to receive innovative ideas from God. We see Joseph was a senior government official whom the Holy Spirit revealed the coming 7 years of plenty and 7 years of economic hardships. The Holy Spirit gave him a a strategy to ensure the nation is stable even in the 7 years of economic hardships. Daniel was also a succesful government consultant that three governments all reconised him because he was filled with the Holy Spirit. No matter what you do, embrace the Holy Spirit and you will have extraordinary success.
