[Jeremiah 29:11NIV For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.]

As a born again child of God, you got to choose to follow God’s Word and plan your life in line with God’s plans for you or else you will live a very miserable life. In our opening verse, God was revealing to His people that He had great plans for them. Plans that they should prosper. Plans that they should never be harmed. Plans that they should have a great and hopeful future. Unfortunately, as much as God had these great plans for them, the people were living miserable lives. At this point, their homeland had been invaded by the enemy and they had been carried as captives into a foreign land. So they were prisoners of war. They were in captivity as slaves. Why was it so and yet God had great plans for them? They refused to listen and follow God’s Word. Jeremiah 25:4-7 says “.. And though the Lord has sent all his servants the prophets to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention. They said, “Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land the Lord gave to you…. “But you did not listen to me,”* So God sent His Word through His servants, but they refused to listen and follow. So God’s great plans for them could not be realized and they ended up suffering so much. As much as God has great plans for us, we have to chose to follow God’s Word. God will not impose His great plans on us. We have to choose God’s way and His plans will come to pass. If you are in a terrible situation now, your key lies in learning God’s Word and understanding His plans & purposes for your life. Then choose to follow His Word and your life will change. You will experience the amazing life God has for you. Don’t give up, just realign your life to the Word of God.
