*[Exodus 34:29 The Shining Face of Moses Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.]*

Moses was on the mountain with the Lord for 40 days and he ate nothing all the while. When he came back to the children of Israel, our opening verse reveals Moses face was shining. This is the glory of God. Moses face was so full of the glory of God that his face was shining that the people could not look at his face. This is what fasting does in our lives. It makes us to radiate the glory of God. Isaiah 60:5 says *”Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.”* God wants to make you radiant. He wants you to shine. He wants you to manifest His glory to your generation. Fasting cuts off all distraction so that we can be focused on God and His glory is effectively radiates into our lives. If you had not planned to begin the year with prayer & fasting, it’s highly recommended. It’s not a law, but the benefits are numerous.
